On Tuesday, July 2, staff of Alpharetta Children’s Dentistry & Orthodontics participated in CURE Childhood Cancer‘s Open Arms lunch program. Six volunteers from ACD brought a hot BBQ lunch to the Scottish Rite and Egleston campuses of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The yummy food from Slope’s BBQ was set up in the family room of the cancer center at each hospital and was available for patients and families to enjoy a warm BBQ lunch (just a few days before the 4th of July)! The ACD staff enjoyed volunteering their time with CURE Childhood Cancer, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and even made some new friends!

Because every family deserves a place they can call “home”, we helped make that dream a reality for a local family! We participated with Habitat for Humanity on Friday with a full day of putting up sheetrock for a very deserving family. The day was filled with lots of hammers, nails, laughter, and most importantly – helping hands!

On Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, members of our Alpharetta Children’s Dentistry & Orthodontics team participated in the Run for Orphans 5K at Wills Park in Alpharetta! The 5K, which was put together by the organization Choose to Invest, supports orphaned children in Kenya, where an astonishing 600,000 children live on the streets and are homeless. By participating, we were able to help the organization raise enough funds to open a new orphanage in Kenya for those sweet children!

On February 1, 2013, we participated in the American Dental Association’s National Give Kids a Smile Day by visiting our friends at the Boys & Girls Club of Hall County! We were able to see 114 kids that day and had a good time laughing and spending time with our new friends!
